At Macy & Son we offer a wide range of service options to meet the needs of every
family. Funeral services address the emotional needs of surviving family members by
helping to confirm the reality of death, allowing the family and friends to express grief,
allowing the community to express its support, providing an opportunity for remembrance
and by reaffirming religious and philosophical beliefs.
We want the funeral service to fulfill these needs . . . and we will tailor the
arrangements for that service to your personal requests.
Service Options
Because the needs of each family are different, we offer a wide range of service
options to meet those needs. Whether you select a full traditional service, or a simple
memorial service, you are assured of our personal attention.
The following service options are available at Macy & Son:
- Traditional service followed by burial or entombment.
- Traditional service followed by shipment.
- Forwarding of remains to another funeral home.
- Service for graveside or cryptside.
- Immediate burial.
- Service for shipment-in with graveside service.
- Embalming for an outside funeral director.
- Cremation casket service followed by cremation.
- Service for cremation and memorial service.
- Direct Cremation.
- Memorial service when cremation was provided elsewhere.
Caskets
As with other important decisions for the funeral service, choosing the casket that
best fulfills your needs and wishes is one of your most personal choices. At Macy & Son
we offer a wide range of choices and always allow you to make your selection in private.
Caskets come in a variety of materials, cloth-covered woods, hardwoods, steel, copper
and bronze. We make available a price list of these caskets before selection is made.
Vaults and Liner
Although no state law requires you to purchase a container to surround the
casket in the grave, most cemeteries require some sort of rigid outside container. At
Macy & Son we offer a selection of outer containers and vaults to meet those requirements.
Again, a price list of those vaults and liners will be presented to you before you
make a selection.
Flowers
Because flowers say so much and have a special significance at a funeral, we take
special care in arranging all floral tributes. We are fortunate to have many excellent
florists in our area from which you may select your flowers.
Marker and Memorials
The selection of an appropriate memorial is an important one. Because of the
personal nature of this selection, we offer a vast range of choices. Our markers are made
from the finest marble, granite, or durable bronze. The marker can be added to your
purchase agreement here at the funeral home and will be delivered to any cemetery for
placement on the grave.
Cemeteries and Memorial Parks
We are able to assist you with your selection in any cemetery in our area. Our
funeral home serves all cemeteries in Oregon and because of our membership in
Selected Independent Funeral Homes, we can arrange burials
anywhere in the continental United States or throughout the free world.

Cremation
Many people believe they must choose between cremation and a traditional
funeral. Cremation is not a replacement for a funeral. Cremation is simply an alternative
which can still include an open casket, public visitation and a memorial service. In fact,
cremation is simply an optional form of final disposition.
At Macy & Son we have offered cremation services for more than 50 years.
Embalming
Although embalming is only required in special cases, most families prefer it.
When a service is selected with viewing and visitation, embalming is usually performed.
Embalming is the disinfection and temporary preservation of the body. Our professional
licensed embalming staff are highly trained and experienced.
